(no subject)

So I take a nap and the Frienditto thing started. Folks if any of you are using it: please defriend me. I don't want my entries or my friends entries out there so everyone can have at them. That's so not cool. I know I am not the most interesting person on the planet and God knows I am not a BNF so why save stuff on that so-called service? There is an expectation of respect. I expect it, and so does everyone else who posts out here on LJ. I have saved in the past two entries on my hard drive concerning fandom by June. One was the Snape the Hero essay and the other was concerning the British aristocracy. If she wants me to get rid of those no problem I will. But putting them on some site that has no connection to LJ and giving those jokers access with my pw and such is not done. Just not done.

Seems like fandom is pretty unhappy with this and you know I am right with them on that. It's not about privacy, it's about trolls. And this site sounds like a major troll site. No, just no. I know for a fact that two LJ users are having difficulties in RL with stalkers and one of them deleted her complete journal including fanfiction because of it. The other is seriously dealing with law enforcement concerning it but something like this puts her at even more risk. These are just two people I know of. I am sure they are not alone. I expect we will see more deleted journals behind this and that pisses me off. One woman who wrote damned good Snarry is gone another may soon be. No, this is NOT good. Something like this is only going to hurt people and some of the people hurt may have nothing to do with this site. So be a friend to your flist and stay away from something like this.
