Happy Birthday Severus Snape!

JKR finally let that particular date out of the bag on her website and like everyone else I had to post. I am glad to know he isn't a scorpio or a virgo or whatever.  In my MarySue fic that I started and abandoned, I gave the man my birthday. BTW that fic went with the hard drive last June when I debugged, fdisked, reformatted and reinstalled. It's that gone. Any tech geek will tell you a debugging removes everything. It gets overwritten by binary code. Best thing to do when seriously virused and the hardware is not damaged.

Lots of suggestions on what Snape would enjoy as a birthday present. I can think of three things off the top of my head: Voldemort's demise, freedom from teaching children a task he obviously dislikes, and public recognition that he was on the right side during all of this. I think those would do nicely for a start.

I do have a question here though. Why does everyone think Severus was born in 1960? The Lexicon gives two different yrs. In the timeline it's 1959, and in his bio it's 1960. Personally I go with '59 because he would've left Hogwarts in 1977 with the rest of the crew and 4yrs isn't a huge amt of time but enough to allow him to have been an active DE and turned a yr prior to the fall. It works better for timing. I personally think Lily and James were born that yr also along with the rest of the marauders. It just hangs better than 1960 for some reason. Ah well.

The thing about this, I expect this is one birthdate half the fandom has been salivating over. I know I've been waiting awhile to see it myself. And with the number of entries I've seen so far, I wasn't alone. Him can't get a beer til noon here to hoist one in his honor. Damn I hate blue laws! Those of ya who can should hoist one for him sometime today, even if he is a fictional character.

Oh I finally watched PoA on DVD last night. I never saw it in the theater and damn I was disappointed. Roomie was like watching me more than the movie because I was cussing so much. Musta put on one hell of a show. But they left out all the backstory! If you never read the books you don't have a clue as to who the marauders were! And what's up with Super!Hermione? As a friend of mine would say "Bitch Please! You aint that cute!"
